DOCTORS, OUR SAVIOURS
My name is Abdirahman Mahad. I am an 18-year-old boy from Nairobi, Kenya. I am in my last year of high school which due to COVID-19, means I will have to repeat another year. I am currently busy with online classes through Zoom and revising for exams, but at the same time I try to find time for my sketchbook to draw. I am so obsessed with drawing but I don’t find enough support from my family or friends. There is also no art classes in my school, so I am on my own. I am planning to take art classes in the future and make money through art.
This is a graphite pencil drawing of a girl holding an umbrella while the virus is ‘raining’ down on her. The umbrella represents doctors while the girl represents the citizen. And the virus is COVID-19. This drawing shows that doctors are there for the people to protect them from COVID-19. The girl is also standing alone and wearing a mask. This shows that we should practice social distancing and also wear masks.
